The end of the Second Vatican Council - Liturgy

Ralph M. Wiltgen SVD, Ren wpada do Tybru.
Odśpiewano psalm, a następnie fragmenty z Pisma Świętego czytali kolejno: Francus – katolik, Amerykanin – metodysta i Grek z Kościoła prawosławnego. W swej homilii Ojciec Św. powiedział: Rozstanie z wami zasmuca nas i stwarza poczucie osamotnienia, którego nie doświadczaliśmy przed rozpoczęciem Soboru. Zawsze chcielibyśmy widzieć was przy sobie. Następnie sprawowano modły przy grobie św. Pawła, a później Papież przyjmował delegatów – obserwatorów.

Ottaviani. (…). Także obok papieża siedzieli czterej kardynałowie – moderatorzy" (s. 370).

"Na koniec Papież Paweł VI przedstawił abp. Feliciego, który miał wygłosić w imieniu Ojca Świętego krótką formułę zamknięcie Soboru. (…).

(…). W drzwiach głównego wejścia do Bazyliki św. Piotra opuszczono przenośny tron papieski i Ojciec Święty przeszedł pieszo środkową nawą do ołtarza. Ojcowie Soboru, zgromadzeni w części wydzielonej świątyni, w olbrzymiej Auli Soborowej (23 m szerokości i 190 m długości) zgotowali Papieżowi gorące przyjęcie. (…). Po chwili prywatnej rozmowy z Bogiem podjął pierwszą oficjalną modlitwę Soboru Watykańskiego II: Veni, Creator Spiritus (O Stworzycielu Duchu, przyjdź), w której Papież i wszyscy Ojcowie Soboru prosili Ducha Świętego o światło i przewodnictwo w podjętym zadaniu.

Wówczas jeden z przewodniczących Soboru wypowiedział głośno słowa: W imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego. Amen. Natychmiast wszyscy zgromadzeni rozpoczęli modlitwę Adsumus (Jesteśmy tu przed Tobą, o Duchu Święty) i zaraz potem potoczył się soborowy dzień obrad, w którym do mikrofonu bez przerwy podchodzili kolejni mówcy" (s. 138-139).

Przyjęcie Konstytucji o świętej liturgii i jej uprawomocnienie

"Wówczas Papież Paweł VI powstał i uroczyście ogłosił przyjęcie Konstytucji o liturgii świętej, używając formuły innej niż była stosowana w czasie Soboru Watykańskiego I. Położony został nacisk na rolę biskupów, tworzących dokument i działających w Kościele. W Imię Trójcy Przenajświętszej, Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego.

Piotra z widocznie niezadowolonymi minami. Wyraźnie odczuwało się atmosferę napięcia i niezadowolenia – napisał Donald Quinn na pierwszej stronie „St. Louis Review”. Kiedy Papież został wniesiony do Bazyliki św.

Odśpiewano psalm, a następnie fragmenty z Pisma Świętego czytali kolejno: Francus – katolik, Amerykanin – metodysta i Grek z Kościoła prawosławnego. W swej homilii Ojciec Św. powiedział: Rozstanie z wami zasmuca nas i stwarza poczucie osamotnienia, którego nie doświadczaliśmy przed rozpoczęciem Soboru. Zawsze chcielibyśmy widzieć was przy sobie. Następnie sprawowano modły przy grobie św. Pawła, a później Papież przyjmował delegatów – obserwatorów.

Ottaviani. (…). Także obok papieża siedzieli czterej kardynałowie – moderatorzy" (s. 370).

"Na koniec Papież Paweł VI przedstawił abp. Feliciego, który miał wygłosić w imieniu Ojca Świętego krótką formułę zamknięcie Soboru. (…). Po odczytaniu formuły kończącej Sobór Papież Paweł VI powstał z miejsca i udzielił swego błogosławieństwa Ojcom i zgromadzonemu Ludowi. Wyrzucając wysoko w górę swe ramiona, wołał: W Imię Pana naszego, Jezusa Chrystusa, idźcie w pokoju! Sobór został zamknięty, a Ojcowie powstali również z miejsc, bijąc brawo i pozdrawiając radośnie wszystkich dookoła. Wówczas w Bazylice św. Piotra odezwały się dzwony" (s. 371).
